Megapolis Group and Starwood Hotels & Resorts make rely on the success of their development projects in the Rostov region

Konstantin Kuzin, Chairman of Board of directors of Megapolis Group holding company, Valery Kuznetsov, Minister of Construction, Architecture and Regional Development of the Rostov region, and the representatives of Starwood Hotels & Resorts visited the construction site of Sheraton Rostov-on-Don Hotel & Business Center, Rostov-on-Don. The American partner, who manages more than 1,100 hotels all around the world, highly estimated the speed and the quality of the construction process, they also emphasized the work of the general contractor – COSTA investment and construction company, and the technical client - Strabag.

After seeing the construction site, Sheraton Rostov-on-Don Hotel & Business Center project partners met with Sergey Gorban, Vice-Governor of the Rostov region. In the course of that meeting they discussed the development prospects of the tourism and hospitality industry in the Rostov region. Vice-Governor expressed the regional government support for the development projects of Megapolis Group and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. According to Sergey Gorban’s opinion, the realization Sheraton Rostov-on-Don Hotel & Business Center will considerably increase the flow of tourists to the Rostov region. In addition, Vice-Governor made a point that the five-star hotel in our city would be a step which made us closer to FIFA World Cup 2018 staging in Rostov-on-Don.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of Megapolis Group Konstantin Kuzin has announced that in Rostov-on-Don under support of the Rostov region Government the world-class project is being realized which will set the high standard for the hospitality business and tourism in the Don region. Frits van Paasskhen, President & CEO of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, expressed his assurance in the future success of Sheraton Rostov-on-Don Hotel & Business Center and also noted that such large-scale projects of international hotel brands always had a positive impact on the regional economy.

By the end of their visit, the American partners reviewed the model standard room of the future five-star Sheraton hotel and noticed that the project meets all the requirements of the world-class hotel.

Following the results of the visit, Starwood Hotels & Resorts leadership team noticed that Rostov-on-Don and the Rostov region was one of the most promising regions in terms of hospitality and tourism in Russia.
