Hotel Business in Rostov-on-Don: dialogue in international format
On the 22nd of August, 2012, Vice-governor of the Rostov region Sergey Gorban met in Rostov with the investor of development projects, Chairman of Board of directors of Megapolis Group holding company, Konstantin Kuzin and President of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Fritz van Paasshen. In the course of the meeting they discussed their cooperation in the developing of the investment projects in travel and hotel business in the Don region
«Both projects of Megapolis Group collaboratively with Starwood Hotels & Resorts will let considerably increase the flow of tourists to the Rostov region», - said Sergey Gorban, Vice-Governor. – «Presently we host around one million tourists per year. The fact that such a company as Starwood Hotels & Resorts has come to the Rostov region is very significant for us as it shows that the business trusts us.»
In the Rostov region the partners are realizing two projects where Megapolis Groups is an investor and the American part is a manager of Sheraton Rostov-on-Don Hotel & Business Center and Le Meridien hotel.
Fritz van Paasschen, President and CEO of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, expressed his assurance in the success of the project: «By our experience, everywhere where the strong hotel brands come, the other business fields intensively proceed. In such a manner we not just provide the new employment opportunities but also contribute in creation the jobs in other enterprises», - announced Fritz van Paasschen.
Chairman of Board of directors of Megapolis Group Konstantin Kuzin noticed that all project works are being done just in time, 300 people are working at the construction of Sheraton Rostov-on-Don Hotel & Business Center. «With the support of the Rostov region government we are realizing the world-class project which will set a high standard for the hospitality business and tourism, – said Konstantin Kuzin. – Sheraton business complex with its status of a trendy facility will proved Rostov-on-Don with the additional opportunities to arrange the football World Cup 2018».
The realization of the development projects of Megapolis Group and Starwood Hotels & Resorts not only hold particular promise for increase of investment flows, but also form the Don region reputation in the global business space.
